Light meter may not be the right term. Most UV light meters take a single measurement. This is different because it measures intensity and it measures the amount of light over a period of time. This is good for measuring the sun in a reliable way. When using sunlight, there are variables like time of day, season and clouds that could interfere and make it difficult to get consistent exposures.

Most UV sensors out there are do not read UV light, they make a calculation based on total light, I think there are new ones that only read UV light and reach their peak at 355n. I will probably keep trying to make it out of sheer curiosity, but I will also buy one as well from Ian since the whole reason I started this was because I wanted one.
