Hi Bob,

Thank you for sharing this tome of information. All the perspectives and many that a conservator of late 19th C-mid 20th C can use - and that is just the titles! So glad to see other areas covered.

Appreciate your posts and sharing,

Kim

DEAR LIST,

I found this very interesting because it gives a perspective that is not quite as American & British centered as Beaumont Newhall's HISTORY OF PHOTOGRAPHY. I met Newhall on a number of occasions in Rochester at RIT and at the Visual Studies Workshop so I was a dyed in the wool fan but it is nice to have other perspectives. E.g., Newhall was not very receptive to alt photo printing after the advent of silver gelatin. He and Minor White used to say, "Sure, that's nice. But is it photography?"

CHEERS!

DEAR KEES,

Thanks for being a moderator for the alt photo list. . The attached doc seems to be distributed FOC to people who subscribe to their list. I will leave it to you to determine whether it is OK or violating copyright to allow list members to read it.

I hope it is OK because it gives a perspective that is not quite as American & British centered as Beaumont Newhall's HISTORY OF PHOTOGRAPHY. Anyhow, let me know. I know we cannot send attachments to the lists and I don't have a way to put it on a site with a link so I hope you can do that and send the link in emails to the list.
