For those in Australia/New Zealand -

Oskar Fischinger's *Raumlichtkunst* opens August 30 at another museum, this
time in Australia. It's part of an exhibition called Sublime at the
Queensland Art Gallery/Gallery of Modern Art (which is an excellent
museum), Brisbane, on view through May, 2015. Opening events on August 30
include a screening of the *Optical Poetry: Oskar Fischinger Retrospective*
from Center for Visual Music in 35mm, plus a talk on Fischinger and
*Raumlichtkunst* by Cindy Keefer, curator/archivist.

*Raumlichtkunst, *c. 1926/2012, is Center for Visual Music's new HD
3-screen installation, a reconstruction of Oskar Fischinger's 1920s
multiple projector performances, using newly restored film from his nitrate
originals. At this venue, *Raumlichtkunst* is 36 feet wide (12 feet each
projection).

(2013). Thanks to the National Film Preservation Foundation and the Film
Foundation's Avant Garde Masters program for support for the film
restoration portion of this project, and thanks also to the Fischinger
Trust, Barbara Fischinger, Cinemaculture, Richard Brown and Opticus Video.

The Optical Poetry: Oskar Fischinger Retrospective program features prints
preserved by Center for Visual Music, Academy Film Archive, and one by EYE.
This 35mm Retrospective program also screens Sept. 28 at Harvard Film
Archive, Cambridge, MA and Oct. 2 at International House, Philadelphia.
