Inhofe's third premise is theological and it also seems to be obviously
unsupportable. Does anyone know of any theological support for Inhofe's

In his book, The Greatest Hoax, Inhofe's third premise is that in Genesis
8:22 God promised Noah that human-beings cannot influence the climate in a
catastrophic way. In the New International Version of the Bible, God's
promise is as follows:

"Never again will I curse the ground because of humans, even though every
inclination of the human heart is evil from childhood. And never again will
I destroy all living creatures, as I have done. As long as the earth
endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and
night will never cease."

Gen. 8:21-22. (Inhofe quoted only the underlined portion). Whether you read
this promise in or out of context, and whether you are a believer or not,
God did not promise Noah that man would not be able to cause catastrophic
changes on the Earth.

I know of no serious theological basis for the idea that God promised that
human beings could not cause catastrophic change on the earth. Is there any
legitimate theologian who supports this view?
