Band & Orchestra Festival Schedule - The Advanced Band will perform at East
Grand Rapids High School on Thursday, March 4, warm-up is at 8:25am.
Students need to arrive by 7:50am.  The Symphony Orchestra will be
performing at East Grand Rapids High School on Thursday, March 4, warm-up is
at 4:10pm.  Students need to arrive by 3:35pm.   All students must wear the
full concert uniform to Festival!

 

Schedule Change for Symphony Orchestra, Advanced Band & Concert Band

 

Symphony Orchestra

To make up for the lost rehearsal time from the snow storm, the Symphony
Orchestra will have an extended rehearsal until 3:30pm this week.  Rehearsal
will begin at the regular time, wind & percussion players will need to
arrive by 2:15pm (instead of 2pm).  Thank you for your flexibility as we
prepare for Festival!

 

Advanced Band

Due to the lost rehearsal two weeks ago, the Advanced Band will begin one
half hour early to prepare for Festival.  Advanced Band students will be
dismissed from choir around 10:55 and will begin rehearsal at 11:15am.

 

Advanced Band/Symphony Orchestra Festival information - Maps and directions
have been sent out in an email.  Copies may be picked up at the Information
Table.

 

Chorale Performance at Kentwood Community Church on March 3 - The Northern
Lights Chorale performance cancelled on February 10 has been rescheduled for
March 3.  Chorale members need to work on memorizing all 5 songs in
preparation for this performance.

 

Choral Festival - The Northern Lights Chorale will be participating in the
MSVMA District Choral Festival on March 19.  Mark your calendars and come
show your support!

 

MSBOA Solo & Ensemble Score Sheets Available - Stop by the Information Table
to pick up your S & E score sheets.

 

LAST WEEK! Pre-order your yearbook - For $30 to guarantee your family's
copy.  (Once the yearbooks come in, any extra copies that the publisher
sends will be sold first come, first served for $35.)  The orders will be
taken at the fund-raising table in the hallway.  Make checks payable to
WMHFA with "yearbook" in the memo line.  

 

WMHFA Lunch - Save Money! - Buy a meal card for $30.00 for 10 lunches and
save $2.50.  Otherwise lunches are $3.25 which includes 2 sides and a drink.

WORLD'S FINEST CHOCOLATE Fundraiser:  Starting March 3rd, World's Finest
Chocolate will be available to sell.  

WHY?....  This fundraiser is to help with your marching band tuition and
trip costs, as well as benefit the band.   Each candy bar profits 50 cents -
25 cents to your account, 25 cents to the band account for general expenses.

WHEN?....  The chocolate sale will start March 3rd and continue until March
31st.  (All unopened cases can be returned up through March 24th)

HOW?....  Parents, stop by the fundraiser table on March 3rd to pick up one
or more cases of chocolate (a variety of milk chocolate, dark chocolate,
almond, and caramel are in each case).  Sign the cases out with the
fundraiser worker and fill your neighborhood and friends with chocolate.
All cases checked out must have a parent's signature. Return the money
(either one check or cash sealed in an envelope with your name and phone
number) to the fundraiser table.  Be sure to let the workers know if you are
applying the profits to your marching band tuition/trip account.

PRIZES?....  Yes, prizes will follow for the top 3 sellers - more
information on this later.

 

Will you be having a table at the Everything Sale? - We are looking for
someone to make our cookbooks available at the Everything Sale being held at
the HSB on April 17.  If you are willing to make a little space on your
table to sell our cookbooks please let Darla Proseus know by emailing her at
proseus6 at yahoo.com

 

Help WMHFA Raise Funds! - Check out Ada Valley Foods for beef, chicken, pork
and other specialties.  5% of all orders go to benefit WMHFA.    To order
contact Walter Rozeboom at 616-676-0767 or you can also place orders by
email at Adavalley at sbcglobal.net   All orders placed by Monday will be
delivered to the HSB and can be picked on Wednesday between 10am -12pm.
This will be an ongoing opportunity throughout the school year. 

 

2010 Northern Lights Homeschool Marching Band Tentative Schedule - Marching
Band is just around the corner.  All WMHFA Band students are eligible to
participate (yes, even Beginning Band students!).  The tentative schedule
for the summer of 2010 is as follows: Band Camp - June 7-11, Cutlerville -
June 12, Muskegon - June 26, Cascade - July 3, Ionia - July 24, Grand Haven
- August 7.  A decision has been made to postpone the previously announced
trip to Minnesota this year.  A smaller trip is being looked at and promises
to be an exciting trip for all.  Keep posted as more Marching Band
information will be coming in the near future.

The Everything Sale - Saturday, April 17, 2010   

The Everything Sale is back!! Why mess around with planning a garage sale?
The Everything Sale will be held rain or shine, all of the advertising is
done for you and you have a captive audience! This is a great opportunity to
make some extra money during these hard economic times.

 

The Everything Sale will be held in the HSB gym from 9:00 AM to 3:00PM.
Registration begins February 1 and goes until March 29. You may rent a table
for $20 or bring your own table and pay $15 for the space. The sale will be
widely advertised and tables/spaces will go fast!  You can sell anything
from yard sale items, baked goods, curriculum, crafts, or even small
business services and supplies!  Hurry and reserve your spot today!! If

Celebration through History Party - HSB Resource Center sponsored

April 6 & 20 - Calling all moms and daughters!! Come join us for a fun time
of history-focused games and American Girl crafts and snacks. This
mother/daughter event will be held in the Family Room from 6:30 to 8:00pm at
the HSB, 5625 Burlingame Ave. SW, Wyoming, 49509.  The activity is for girls
kindergarten and up with a nominal $5.00 charge per child for the event.
